Oh Lyn

I've just popped on to see if you have replied. So sorry to read that you are so bad at the moment I had no idea, you seemed so well when I saw you at Leicester. It just goes to show what a serious illness RA is. I was only told last week that I should be pleased that I haven't got anything seriously wrong with me.

My booklet is dated 2006 I am now wondering if mine is more of an updated booklet than yours with you being on MTX for such a long time, that may explain why there is a conflict of advice.

Keep us informed of how you get on with your appointment. I attended an Arthritis Event a few weeks ago and there was a question and answer section at the end of the talk. A lady asked about bone marrow transplant, the consultant doing the talk had no idea of what she was talking about and said that he hadn't heared of this being used in treatment of RA. It must be something new that is now being thought of. I spoke to the lady afterwards and told her about Jenni and that it may be on the cards for her. We both thought that it made sense to try to treat the blood if the blood was the cause of the illness.

Hope things work out for you.

Sending you love

Paula x x

Sorry Sylvia if Lyn and myself have taken over your orginal thread.

Hi Lyn,

You are lovely and give lots of good advice, but like you say we all have our our own Rhummys and advice and will do what we feel is right. I am so sorry to hear your having severe health problems at the moment, I will keep you in my prayers and hope it takes a turn for the better. The fact that you have had 22 years of up and downs with this RA, its little wonder you are apprehensive to take any chances with you health, think we would all be the same in your shoes. Looking forward to the next get together so I can meet everyone.

Lorna xx Smile

Lyn, sorry to hear that you are so unwell at the moment. Immune system wiped out!! I hope that you dont need the bone marrow transplant. We rely on you alot on here, incase you havent noticed!!! Take care of yourself.
My little problem is can I miss the mtx for when I go on holiday to Isle of Wight, as it gives me a very runny tummy!! dont really need this when travelling on trains and catamarran!!Smile

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson
